Pauli Kari

Pauli Kari is a Finnish concert pianist, improviser and composer. He has studied in Lahti Music Conservatory, Sibelius Academy (Youth training), Turku Art Academy and numerous Masterclasses.

  ​​​​​​​He has studied all over the world with artists and professors e.g. Lea Terno-Kivilä, Arto Satukangas, Liisa Pohjola, Inkeri Siukonen, Matti Raekallio, Peter Nagý,  Niel Immelman, Elzbiéta Guzek-Soini, Leslie Howard, Arie Vardi, Alexander Braginsky and Aquiles Delle Vigne. In addition he has studied in the Arts Management Programme in Sibelius Academy.

In the current season Pauli Kari is starting a collaboration with MDR Leipzig Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Kristjan Järvi. The collaboration is being forged to unveil the work of Composer Selim Gustav Adolf Palmgren to German and eventually to international audiences. All five Palmgren’s concertos will be recorded, aiming at a release of all five concerti on CD. 

Along with career as a soloist Pauli Kari plays chamber music. PianoDuo ConFuego (Maria Männikkö & Pauli Kari) was born from a dream of a former pianist couple to play chamber music together. Duo has performed since 2012 with a Spanish-oriented repertoire in the major festivals and concert halls in Finland.
